The shop has been hard at work to turn hundreds of European acrylic acetate and cellulose acetate rod stock into some incredible looking fountain pens. The first of these is ready for purchase featuring an amazing aqua shimmer swirl in pitch black acrylic. This material was sourced from Vince at Turner's Workshop in the UK, showed up years ago and we've finally gotten around to working with it. It machines easily and polishes to a brilliant shine with the silvery aqua-blue blazing forth from the black, we knew it would be another oceanography themed pen right away, and landed on the Black Sea for inspiration.
The Black Sea Vertex Special Release is a small batch release featuring premium European (Erinoid) acrylic acetate. The bodies and caps are fully-machined in-house, and each piece is then taken through a multi-step wet-sanding and polishing process with a final soft-wheel technique that brings out the shine. Select from a variety of Makrolon, aluminum, or brass grip sections to customize your pen and a variety of polished steel nibs. Each pen ships with a Schmidt K5 converter and two black Monteverde ink cartridges in our recyclable packaging.
